There are exquisite flowers
Elegant explosions of petal
And perfume
Some so subtle
No one notices them
Though they erupt
Just underfoot

While others, subsisting implausibly
Are backwoods and obscure
Where no soul has worked their way
To meet them

Nonetheless, they bloom
